The ResistorsThe Resistors
The Resistors burst onto the scene during the 1980s, created by Rick Bell to satisfy the vast central PA crowds' desire for quality popular music. For a time, the band enjoyed huge audiences and wild popularity, but then the times changed. Country was king, and the Resistors were on the outside looking in. It was during this period that Rick met up with Eric Sheerer, a well known drummer in Central PA. Eric had just joined Rick and his wife in a popular area band. As time went on, Rick and Eric began to formulate plans to resurrect the Resistors. The new band spent their first summer playing to large crowds, 4 days every week at Hershey Park. This along with other shows at local clubs and amusement parks, helped the band hone their skills. Jimmy Depalma, locally known as one of the finest area guitarists and singers later joined on guitar, completing the project. The band soon discovered they not only had a great love for the music of the Beatles, but they had an affinity for doing the songs musically and vocally, as well. The Resistors present a family friendly show, one that will remind the 60's generation why they loved the Beatles and at the same time, entertain the younger generations with music that remains fresh and exciting even today. The band is also a completely self contained production, providing their own sound and lighting, using quality equipment for a satisfying, enjoyable listening experience.
