Nathan Phyerstone
Nathan began studying piano and music theory at age six. Soon to follow he was given his first guitar. A Sears Silvertone given to him by his older brother witch was qwickly converted lefthanded. At that time Hendricks, The Rare Earth, and Santana all had hits and Nathan was playing those hits with a few backyard cover bands in Memphis as an organ player. Suddenly, It was cooler to play bass. Stanley, Jaco and Graham were taking solos while bassist like Criss Squire and John Paul Jones were making rock funky. At the same time James Brown was making Bootsy play like a monster of a... All of these styles greatly motovates what you hear from Nathan Phyerstone today. Nathan has also been a teacher of classical guitar at the Memphis Black Arts Alliance and a local Radio Personality. Nathan uses Rickenbacher and Carvin basses to create his sound and many credits to boot. Most recently he completed a two year tour with blues legend "DeNise LaSalle".
