Lou Guzzo is the author or co-author of 14 books, including Trashing the Planet and Environmental Overkill: Whatever Happened to Common Sense?. He is also a veteran print and broadcast journalist. The late Dixie Lee Ray recruited Mr. Guzzo to serve as her communications consultant at the Atomic Energy Commission and at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Oceans and International Scientific and Environmental Affairs. The two of them later collaborated on their best-selling books on the environment, warning about the danger facing the nation from environmental zealotry.
