Jamie Blyth gained nationwide attention when he appeared as one of the final suitors on the ABC-TV reality series The Bachelorette. After going public with his nine-year-long battle with social anxiety disorder and panic attacks, he received tens of thousands of emails from fans that shared their own experiences of anxiety and fear. Blyth speaks for associations including the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and universities around the country, and has been a guest on Oprah, Good Morning America, and other national news programs and talk shows.

Jamie received international recognition and had more than 10 million hits on his website in just 6 months as one of the stars from ABC's hit show The Bachelorette with Trista and Ryan.

Prior to appearing in the limelight, Jamie played professional basketball in Europe and was a top national technology sales representative and manager. Since the show, he has worked as a reporter for ABC, Fox Sports and Extra. This spring, he will be interviewing top musicians and sports legends for Unsung Heroes, a nationally televised prime time network event that will raise money for military families in need.

His first book entitled, Fear Is No Longer My Reality (McGraw Hill) will hit the shelves nationally in February 2005. He has shared his compelling and inspirational story with national television personalities such as Oprah, Diane Sawyer and Connie Chung.

Currently, much of Jamie's time is spent traveling the country speaking to groups about coping with social anxiety (and what it was like being on The Bachelorette).
