Captain Gene Cernan was the second American to walk in space and the last man to have left his footprints on the moon. He was a member of NASA's senior management team for mission planning and served as the senior U.S. negotiator for the first joint U.S./U.S.S.R. space flight - the Apollo/Soyuz Project. Cernan is also a seasoned businessman. He served as executive vice president of a global energy company and as chairman of a national airline.
