The City and HorsesThe City and Horses
Named by the Deli NYC as the top emerging indie pop band of 2015, The City and Horses are a six-piece group with members in New York City and Philadelphia, whose songs have been featured on NPR, MTV2, Pigeons & Planes, Fuse, Indie Shuffle, BreakThru Radio, WXPN, the film Paper Heart and other media outlets.

The City and Horses is lead by Marc Cantone, who is known for writing hook-filled, melodic songs with clever and personal lyrics. Celebrated for their quirky and energetic live shows, the band is rounded out by funk flautist Domenica Fossati, drummer Chris Wirtalla, bassist Matt Manhire, lead guitarist Shane Connerty and synth/sax player Nikki D'Agostino.

Their debut album, I Don’t Want to Dream was released by White Shoe Records in 2009 to indie blog acclaim, making numerous year-end lists. Prior to the album’s release, the song “I Miss It All” was handpicked by Charlyne Yi to be featured in her and Michael Cera’s indie film Paper Heart. 2011's We Will Never Be Discovered was released by Paper Garden Records, and 2013's Strange Range was released in the US on Paper Garden Records and in Japan on NEWTOK Records. Both albums were again critically praised and marked the band as indie pop craftsmen and women of the highest order.

The band is currently finishing recording for their next LP to be released by Paper Garden Records later this summer.
