Steve TollSteve Toll
Steve Toll, B.S. Columbia University formed the company Prescription Music which has developed a Therapeutic Music Model for use with Alzheimer’s patients, along with complimentary assessment and measurement tools as well as an On Line Training and Music Subscription Service, which allow anyone to harness the healing power of music. The importance of music has always been a critical element of Mr. Toll’s life, which has inspired the development of programs for seniors as well as children. Mr. Toll is on the Speaker’s Board for the National Alzheimer’s Association and trains professional and family caregivers in the development of therapeutic music programs and conducts educational assembly programs for elementary and middle school students, which connect songs of America with themes in American History.

A classically trained violinist, guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and songwriter, as a teenager he attended the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, which afforded him an introduction to study with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Branching out musically from there, Mr. Toll was a student of world-renowned jazz pianist Gerald Butler. Currently, Steve Toll hosts a weekly NPR radio program heard in various cities of the country and is available for workshops and seminars.

His entertaining approach combines information about the healing power of music with his performance of great standards from the 20s, 30s and 40s.
