Members of the Final Call

Calvin Brown- Guitar, Vocalist, Song Writer- He has performed with the OJ’s, Jackie Wilson, Richard Groove Holmes, Lou Donaldson, Sonny Stit, Benny Golson, Stanley Turrentine, George Coleman, Sonny Fortune, Norman Connors, James Ingram, Leon Hayward, Carl Carlton, and Phyllis Hyman. Strongly influenced by Roy Ayres over the years, his interest in different styles of music expanded dramatically. Calvin’s versatility adds much dimension to the overall sound of the Final Band. He is a highly skilled guitarist with an undeniable passion to perform music at its highest level.

Chris Gonzaque - Bass,Guitar, Vocals, Songwriter-Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter. Throughout his performing career Chris has performed with “Bloodstone, Ike and Tina Turner. Chris performed in Tokyo, Japan in 1976 with “The Fourth House.” Chris has performed with many bands in the area as a freelance musician, performing rock, jazz, funk, soul and blues.

Lester(bugleboy) Smith Jr. Trumpet,Vocalist,Songwriter- Les Jr. formed a group called the Teen Turbans, winning many performances. Out of the group derived Al MacKay and Ralph Johnson who went on to play with Earth Wind and Fire.

Throughout his career Les has played with the Whispers, New Perspective, toured with Lionel Hampton, Sammy Davis Jr., Billy Preston, Bobbie Womack, and traveled with Bob Hope doing USO shows. He has done recordings with Bobbie Womack, and Sly & the Family Stone. In Les’s words “The way I like to perform is –I like a very explosive show. I love to be with the audience and I want everyone to go home happy.

David Roy - Keyboard,Vocalist, Song Writer- The “Roy” in David’s name is pronounced “wah”. It’s not strange. It’s French. Like all musicians David worked with many groups including the Isleys, James Brown, Booker-T, the Intruders and many others. David has worked many of the Southern California Casinos, wineries and supper clubs. Part of the time he did solo engagements as a lounge act and private parties.

David Gistand - Harmonica, Vocalist, Sound- In the Southern California area Gistand worked the Hilton, Radisson, and Biltmore Chains. Other places of performance include the Pasadena Convention Center, the Pala Casino and other hotel and restaurants.

Sidney Robertson - Bass, Drums, Vocalist, Songwriter-- Sidney’s first opportunity to play bass guitar came with the Wendell Thompson (keyboard) Cool Jazz band, where his first gig was playing for the Pimps Ball at Crown Manor in Roxbury Massachusetts. Surviving this gig, Sidney began playing Reggae bass with the One World Band. Dubbed the “hardest working reggae band”, One World backed enough reggae front men and women to take the whole showcase.
