James E. F. Riley, Sr.James E. F. Riley, Sr.
James E. F. Riley, Sr. is a dynamic, expressive and informative speaker with an interesting past to bring to and captivate any audience. This former U. S. Army officer and federal agent is well traveled, having been stationed in West Germany during the cold war, traveling through Austria, Canada, East Germany, France, Italy, Puerto Rico, South Korea, the Bahamas and the U. S. Virgin Islands. Jim has even appeared in several movies, television commercials and television shows as an extra with the likes of Angela Lansbury, Cuba Gooding Jr., Donald Sutherland, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Lemmon, Jimmy Smits, Morgan Freeman, Raquel Welch, Tom Cruise and many more. Mr. Riley has a degree in Liberal Arts from St. Leo’s College (now University) and has also attended Florida Keys Community College, Pasadena City College, National University, Santa Monica College, the University of Maryland (European Division), U.C.L.A. and U.S.C. But what makes this speaker unique for your conference participants, is that one night in 1990 at about 3:00 in the morning, there was a knock at his door and his entire life was nearly destroyed! Jim lost his life, his marriage and everything he worked his entire life to build. Homeless, jobless and virtually penniless, Jim had to start his life from scratch. The struggle took him into the homes of friends, strangers and even camping out on the side of a mountain. He stayed in South Central L.A., starting to get some temporary jobs. James E. F. Riley, Sr. has had his writing published in multiple ‘zines’ to include online and print editions, from ‘Dark Moon Rising’ to ‘Anotherealms Bests’ and as a guest columnist in newspapers from the Santa Monica Outlook and the Abilene Reporter to The Day (in Ct.). He has published a collection of poems and short stories, ‘Daydreams & Nightmares (ISBN 1-4116-7924-5)’ one of his short stories being produced in a play, ‘Tales of Death’ with the work of Don Nigro (the most published playwright in North America) at the Edmonton Theatre Fringe Festival in Alberta, Canada. The Edmonton Sun’s critic called Jim’s work, ‘…a profound unraveling of emotions…’ Imagine facing this kind of adversity and coming back, building your life. Words that come to mind are: empowerment, inspiration, leadership, motivational, personal growth & development. Jim wouldn’t give up, his life and story will be amazing, interesting and unusual for you and your event or conference attendees.
