THE PHUSIONTHE PHUSION
Band History: In 2001 Terrell Sullivan, a.k.a.Tru Soldier, and Jamal Ingram a.k.a. The Professor, formed the songwriting and production team known as The Phusion. As former members and Christian artists with the R&P Hip-Hop group The Advocates of Unity, The Phusion strives to create music that paints pictures of the Word of God applied to everyday life. Infusing traditional Hip-Hop with Brazilian, Middle Eastern, and Christian pop musical influences, they proclaim the messages of salvation through Jesus Christ to the non-believer as well as the believer. The Phusion's vision is to promote the concepts of greater international fellowship and networking among the world's culturally diverse believers. The Phusion's music messages address global and urban social issues such as those found in "Special Place." A tale of the everyday struggle for godly obedience is found in the more recent recording, Jonah. The Phusion has minstered locally at George Mason University, University, International Human Rights Rally in Washington D.C., Hood College, Interdenominational Church of God, Church of the Redeemer, a coffeehouse called My Brothers's Place in Waldorf, MD, the Disciples of Christ Outreach Ministries, Evangel Cathedral Temple, Solid Rock Church, and several other local churches. The Phusion has also ministered in different areas of the country such as: Messiah College, Temple University, Club Feelize in Virginia Beach and Rochester, NY. In addition, they have been involved in Sound Tha" Alarm in Baltimore and Praise In Da Park MusiqFest in Virginia, which are both popular Christian music events. Along with radio interviews on the local gospel radio station, Heaven 1580, their music has been in rotation on various Gospel Hip-Hop radio shows across the country and around the world, including GospelTrax in Sand Springs,OK which airs the only "All Christian Hip-Hop Radio Show" in America. The Phusion is very interested in foreign and inner-city mission work and the Hip-Hop community. With the lyrical content of their music they realize that there is a struggle within the Church when it comes to Hip-Hop versus Christian music but the team remains steadfast and believes that a heart committed to the daily Christian experience is what determines the values and the lifestyle of an artist.
