The Mo Johnson Band John “Mo” Morgan John founded the band in 2002 after playing in several local bands as a harmonica player and back-up singer. “I wanted to play great songs that people don’t hear too often and put our own spin on them.” His influences are Magic Dick, John Popper, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, James Cotton, Stevie Wonder, Little Walter, Charlie Musselwhite, and of course, Robert Johnson. Johnny Hamilton Johnny has been with the band since the beginning. He is renowned by fellow musicians as one of the smoothest and most tasteful bassists around. “Doin’ it right and havin’ a good time doin’ it are what makes it right for me,” he says. Johnny has played in local bands since 1973. Wilson Pickett, James Brown, John Fogerty, and Dickie Betts have all left their mark and it shows. Ted Lynch Ted has been Mo’s percussionist since 2004, helping to elevate the band to a new level. He is a college educated percussionist, having spent two years at Delta College in both the marching and stage bands. “I just like to have fun and play drums and this is a fun band.” Among Ted’s many admired drummers are Neil Pert, John Bonham, Charlie Watts, and Ringo Starr. Chris Wylde Chris joined the band in 2005 and has become an invaluable addition as a premier lead guitarist and recording engineer. He has a wealth of experience, having played professionally for over 35 years all over the country. “Playing in a band like this allows me to really express myself and communicate through the music,” His influences are Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Scott Henderson, and Carlos Santana.
