Dawson McAllister

Dawson McAllister was born in 1946 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and raised as a minister’s son in Peoria, Illinois. He studied at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota and Talbot Theological Seminary, La Mirada, California. He received Honorary Doctorate from Biola University, La Mirada, California. In 1977 he married Ruth Hill and now has two sons, Fulton and Eugene. He and his family live on a farm outside Nashville, Tennessee.

Dawson is the host of the national live radio call-in show, Dawson McAllister Live! syndicated on 250 radio stations nationwide, with a listening audience of 500,000 every week. He established the National HopeLine (1-800-394-HOPE) for ages 21 and younger where more than 20,000 calls are received every month. He's also been the host of several video series and prime time television specials, including the highly acclaimed "Kids In Crisis" and "Too Young To Die." Over the past 30 years, Dawson has taught more than 2 million teenagers in-depth Biblical truths and each year he speaks to hundreds of thousands of teenagers through rallies, conferences and crusades across America.

The author of numerous books and teaching manuals, Dawson's books include "Search for Significance," "Student Relationships," "Pack Your Bags, Jesus is Coming," "The Great War," "Please Don’t Tell My Parents," "Making Peace at Home," "Who Are You God?" and "A Walk With Christ Through Eternity."

Dawson’s new book, "Saving the Millennial Generation," (Thomas Nelson, Publishers, 1999) emphasizes the essential differences between the generations of Baby Boomers, Generation Xers, and the Millennial Generation, those born after 1982, and how to reach America’s teenagers.
