Most people have an ordinary lifestyle while others are fortunate to have many. Born in New York's Big Apple and raised in Harlem, Hank learned to adapt very quickly. From dealing with the boys who ran Harlem to learning Spanish and Yiddish, oh yes, and some English.

His first dream was competing as a powerlifter and bodybuilder in which he won the "New York State Power Lifting Championship". Putting his talent to use he became the famous wrestler known as "The Minnesota Farmboy" which is interesting because he had never been out of New York.

After five years of professional wrestling and slamming onto canvasses, Hank realized that comedy would come easier to him. So he packed his trunks and shoes and made his way to the New York Catskill Mountains where he landed his first job as "Social Director" for the then famous Browns Hotel.

Comedy came very easy to Hank who created what he learned from growing up in Harlem as a boy. He made audiences laugh with his wonderful stories, adding a variety of characters and dialects. His talents were soon noticed by many and soon Hank was off working with the likes of Della Reese, Tony Bennett and most recently again with Jerry Vale at the TURNING STONE Casino & Resort in upper New York. His corporate events have taken him to Canada, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and nationwide.

Hanks third dream finally came true when Nat Hiken saw him one night performing and asked him to audition for the part of Officer Nicholson on the famous show "Car 54 Where Are You". Up and running Hank Garrett became well known to all in the television industry. Two years later "Car 54" was canceled, but Hank went on to play a host of other characters.

The signature role that took Hank's career to a new level was "Three Days of the Condor" where he played the infamous killer postman and which won him the New York Fiml Critics Award. Since then Hank has worked with the likes of Peter Falk, Patrick Stewart, Kathleen Turner, Al Pacino, Christopher Lloyd, Sophia Loren, James Coburn and co-starred with James Earl Jones.
