CHERYL (WEEK) NORTON started her singing career in Los Angeles. When she moved to Detroit in 1979, she was discovered by vocalist/bassist Michael Henderson. When she began to work with "The SECRET" (:Jimmy Jam Harris, Terry Lewis, Mont Moir (also working with the local minneapolis band "The TIME").

With her first album (84) she scoored at once with the single "I didn't mean to turn you on" (also coverd by Robert Palmer later that year 1987, do you rememeber the video:all the girls in short dresses ?). Working with TABU and Flyte Time Prod. (=Jam &Lewis) a collaboration with Alexander O'Neal was established. The songs "Saturday Love", "Never new Love like this" and many others are to listen on both their albums. In 1986 she even worked with Alex on the SOS BAND album "SANDS OF TIME" , the SOS-hit "The Finest" was it's result.

After her relationship with Randy Ran (also memember of the Flyte Time staff) was ended , Cherrelle teamed with Narada Michael Walden (Gimme, Gimme, Gimme al night long..)
