El Debarge went solo in 1986, having spent his earlier years as lead singer for the group Debarge and spawning the hits "Who's Holding Donna Now" and "All This Love," among others. His debut album contained the hit "Who's Johnny" which was included in the soundtrack of the film Short Circuit. Although his later work did not rise to the acclaim of his early 80's career with Debarge, 1990 brought a contribution to Quincy Jones' "The Secret Garden."
