As a winner of the Johnny Walker Comedy Competition semifinals in Boston, Wendy Liebman went to Los Angeles to compete in the finals. That unforgettable evening at the famous Improv, she was discovered by the talent coordinator of The Tonight Show with Johhny Carson.

The effectiveness of her technique lies greatly in the unexpectedness of her timing and audience. The punch line falls after the joke seems to be over. The Los Angeles Times raves: "She's a master of the throwaway line, of making a perfectly rational observation, then adding, almost subliminally, the punch line which skews everything she has said before." She has a unique style which has made her a favorite at the prestigious Just For Laughs and U.S. Comedy Arts comedy festivals and Wendy has become a noticeable presence on television making an ever so often appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman as well as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
