Raised in Boston, Rogan was a four-time Massachusetts State Champion for Tae Kwon Do. In 1987, he was a U.S. Open Lightweight Champion and Grand Champion in all weight classes. While teaching Tae Kwon Do at a local gym, he was encouraged to try out at an "open mike" night at a nearby comedy club. And, once he did, he was hooked. Rogan's stand-up career brought him to Los Angeles, where he appeared on such programs as "Caroline's Comedy Hour," "Comedy From the Danger Zone," "Keeping America Funny," "Buster's Happy Hour," "Stand-Up Spotlight" and "Spotlight Cafe." After NBC executives saw his stand-up routine, they signed him to a deal. While developing a show based on his comedy, he was cast in the short-lived Fox sitcom, "Hardball." From there, Rogan was cast in "NewsRadio," where he has helped to mold the character and give him the trademark characteristics that have made him stand out in the ensemble cast.
