Featuring some of the finest and most experienced reggae players in the world, The BBS ALLSTARS have come to be known internationally as todays Ambassadors of reggae music. With such diverse backgrounds and influence, ranging from UB40 to NORI NORI to BOB MARLEY'S original WAILERS, the sound borne from this group is fabulously intoxicating. BBS's all-star lineup consists of front man ROBBIE T (vocals, guitar), PATRICK ROGER (bass) JULIAN ST ROSE (drums, programming) DEVIN MARSH (keyboards, vocals) and professor ROBIN HOOD ARENTH (guitars). With more than 10 top twenty hits between them, ROLLING STONE magazine has called this group "a journey into the roots of classic and contemporary music". The ALLSTARS mainstream appeal & high energy performances integrate and captivate audiences, making them an essential part of BBS experience. The recent addition of UB40 brass wizard PATRICK TENYUE and percussion monster BIG TONY ARENTH add yet another flavor to this sweet, spicy, fat and funky musical stew sometimes referred to as the "soup". BBS has placed tracks in several films, even making the occasional cameo. In late 1998 the band began a promotional tour through Europe and across the US and the Caribbean, energizing their way into major music festivals as SUNSPLASH, WORLD AIDS AWARENESS & MUSIC FESTIVAL at Wembley, VH1 MUSIC 1ST CONCERT, E.A.R.T.H NOW in Amsterdam, WOODSTOCK 98 and REGGAE SUMFEST. Their performance at Sumfest was featured and aired nationwide on VH1 along with ZIGGY MARLEY, SEAN PAUL & MAXI PRIEST. Other performances have included stints with special guest's CLARENCE CLEMONS, STING, *NSYNC, ERIC CLAPTON, BOBBY KEYS, live showcases on the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN , THE TONIGHT SHOW, and opened several shows for THE ROLLING STONES. In an effort to pay tribute to America, her fallen heroes and all of us who have suffered through the cowardly terrorist attacks in September of 2001, BBS released their modern day anthem "SING OUR OWN SONG", a clear message to the world that freedom in America will always prevail. All proceeds (SALES AND ROYALTIES) from the single were pledged to the 911 fund. In 2002 The band released their second studio recording titled "SESQUIPEDIDIANISM" [the unnecessary use of long words] which featured an extended gospel version of "Sing Our Own Song", plus a remake of the DOORs hit "LIGHT MY FIRE". The compilation also included several new tracks for the upcoming motion picture "MEET THE FOCKERS" starring BEN STILLER, ROBERT DE NIRO, and DUSTIN HOFFMAN. Production on the film had previously been halted due to scheduling conflicts with the cast, but now is scheduled to begin in March 2004. The tentative release date for the film is December 22, 2004 and the ALLSTARS are still scheduled to make a cameo in the film as well as a music video and an "in the making" special for Disney.
